It does this ALOT - about 1/4 of the time. Makes for some very interesting scans.

I would check your cable, just to be sure. But more likely it is something to do with either the CCD array or the light is flickering.

That is one cool image. If my scanner did that, I'd take it over all my regular images 🙂.

Is it a flatbed? Do you have the calibration area covered?
