I need help finding a hood for this lens. I don't even know what size to look for or if there's a difference in the pitch of the threads. I can't afford the price of the original.

I am assuming this is for the Nikon RF mount camera lens and not the LTM version.

A 43mm to Series 6 Screw On Adapter Ring like an Ednalite #660 will allow you use a shallow series 6 lens hood and the series 6 filters too.

Is it a 43mm filter size? Standard threads? I see hoods in 43mm screw-in type on B&H.

The generic tilted-vented CNC-machined 43mm hoods you can buy off the 'bay for less than $5 do work absolutely perfect on the W-Nikkor-C 35/2.5 lens in Nikon S mount.

I have been using one of those on mine for years with 100% satisfaction.

They are small, well made, they provide an optimum protection of the front element, and do not vignette.

I'm partial to the non-vented 43mm screw-in hood with push-on cap that CameraQuest sells for the CV 35/1.4 Nokton (and older 35/2.5 Skopar Pancake I LTM):
Go to http://www.cameraquest.com/inventor.htm and look for "Smaller ROUND lens hood with Voigtlander Cap".
I use it on my UC-Hex 35/2, Nikkor 35/1.8 LTM and Nikkor 50/1.4 LTM lenses.
