a little more summaron 3.5/3.5 love.

The nicest of the 35mm f/3.5 Summaron is the latest M2 version. It is chrome (not aluminium as the f/2.8) and has the same layout as the Summicron 50 mm f/2 rigid. They pair nicely together.

Erik.

Yes, there is... it's mine and is a very nice example. :)

Well, if a little extra advertisement through this thread is allowed, I hope nobody will deny me to push my "Summaron for sale" here in the Classifieds also. Another beautiful example of this wonderful lens and at a very competitive price ;-) Check it out!

beautiful shots guys! I'm currently trying to work out what lens to get for my M2 at the moment (using a 2.5 Skopar but I don't really like the OOF rendering). Looks like a Summaron is high on the list now!

I agree. I love this little lens. I have two - the screw mount version and the optically identical early bayonet mount one. The latter (which LOOKS nicer on my M8) unfortunately has a little haze but the other is perfect. The result is that the bayonet one produces flare if the sun is any where towards the front. The other oen is virtuous and produces clean images. Plus because it requires a bayonet adapter it actually brings up the right frame lines automatically.

simon it's a big plasure looking at your shoot ..............the last of the stairs it's simple but really nice ......sorry for my english I'm trying to explain what I feel .......ciao

I picked up a seriously dirty damaged Summaron and finally got around to having it serviced. One of the elements was beyond saving, but under the right circumstances, it still makes for an interesting lens.

You might say it has some flare issues, however.

I just got my Summaron 3,5/3,5 today. It's a LTM version from 1953, a tiny bit hazy inside but otherwise in pristine condition.
Unfortunately I had to work all day long, so I could just do a quick night shot, and it's a littl hazy tonight.
But still I am amazed what this lens can show already at full aperture:

and a 100% crop:

Simon, you are a true street photographer than lives and writes by experience every day. You could make any lens look worthy!

I have the un-goggled M3 version (which I filed down to bring up the 35mm lines), from 1954 if I'm not mistaken. I use it on my M2s and M4 and on my MDa with a shoe-mount finder.
I have been shooting it almost exclusively during the last week and will keep doing so for another couple of rolls.

here's some summaron love, and there's more to come.
