i have 3x lovely Zorki S '' 1936 Olympic '' from Mika @ Moscow photo, and 3x Zorki 1 all with faux German engraving .[ small , but discrete swastikas , now painted over ]
i love 'em to bits ! They have new matt chrome , new curtains , new covering or all over textured paint finish , superb thick black painted top plates and exquisite OTT engraving ! I can't think of any camera which has had such an ammount of care lavished on it , streets ahead of the normal black Leica copies [ my pair Leica/Fed 1 g's needing Oleg's magic touch to make them useable ]
i call them my '' mika - mouse cameras ''
There's just nothing like them - and , in some ways , the Z S is more stylish than the Z 1 - and i sure as heck would not say that for a standard camera !
Oh , and they all work beautifully - given individual variation , smooth , quiet , a dee'light !
But I don't try to pass them off as Leicas - they are an exquisite eample of Rusian enginering / imagination and dedication , it seems to go beyond just making a quick buck .
They are not cheap though - £70 new Zorki 1 , £60 for the ZS ...
and the reason for the triples ? Simply that ASdee needs repetition and being surrounded and grounded - and I did not want to take a chance on more cameras that might not work, or be damaged scuffed etc - I like new !
