And look at that Summicron 50mm f/2.8! I've never heard of such a scarce lens before!
Highway 61
Revisited
I recently learnt that between 1919 and 1933, the German Reichswehr, which couldn't be a genuine army any longer according to the Versailles' ordeal conditions, had built up training facilities in USSR, and that the Soviets secretly provided the Weimar Republic's German troops with misc. hardware, tanks, machine guns, planes, and so on.I cannot believe my eyes !

So, many Luftwaffe and Wehrmacht officers who got involved into the Barbarossa operation had trained in the Ukraine before Hitler became their chancellor.
This also explains (in a certain way) the "non-aggression pact" signed by Ribbentrop and Molotov, and how they decided together to seal the destiny of Poland way before September 1939.

More likely, this fake came out later than the Summicron . . .

I'm not there
Why do they always use a Zorki-C for faking Leicas? They should atleast choose a camera that looks more like a Leica.
Also, someone should make a collection out of those fake Leicas.

Back in Tashkent I've several times tried to get in contact with someone who actually *does* these fake Leicas, if anything to get a personalized one and to hear some nice stories, but it's nigh impossible.

The most logical explanation is that they are running out of early 'Leica-like' Zorkies and FEDs. Besides, most people KNOW they are fakes by now, but they still sell because they are so kitschy and funny (at least for me) and it is a lot cheaper to collect them than to collect real Leicas.
But one as obviously fake as this has little appeal to me...
Edit: Hmm, very poor English and it seems they foolishly wanted to pass it off as genuine. Not the smartest people on the block.

Hmmm... Wonder how much I could get for my Box Tengor if I put a swastika on it?

Strange due to legal restrictions in my country I wasn't ven allowed to look it up....so it qualifies as a dangerous weapon.....meanwhile there are collectors for that kinda thing

I guess that the Luftwaffe was running low on the "German" leicas and had to force the Soviets into making some for them. This would account for the simuliarities to the Zorki c Jupiter 8, would it not?

Negativistic forever
...and there was that infamous priceless and unique "Leica" with a swastika and an engraved inscription "From Adolph to Eva"

i have 3x lovely Zorki S '' 1936 Olympic '' from Mika @ Moscow photo, and 3x Zorki 1 all with faux German engraving .[ small , but discrete swastikas , now painted over ]
i love 'em to bits ! They have new matt chrome , new curtains , new covering or all over textured paint finish , superb thick black painted top plates and exquisite OTT engraving ! I can't think of any camera which has had such an ammount of care lavished on it , streets ahead of the normal black Leica copies [ my pair Leica/Fed 1 g's needing Oleg's magic touch to make them useable ]
i call them my '' mika - mouse cameras ''
There's just nothing like them - and , in some ways , the Z S is more stylish than the Z 1 - and i sure as heck would not say that for a standard camera !
Oh , and they all work beautifully - given individual variation , smooth , quiet , a dee'light !
But I don't try to pass them off as Leicas - they are an exquisite eample of Rusian enginering / imagination and dedication , it seems to go beyond just making a quick buck .
They are not cheap though - £70 new Zorki 1 , £60 for the ZS ...
and the reason for the triples ? Simply that ASdee needs repetition and being surrounded and grounded - and I did not want to take a chance on more cameras that might not work, or be damaged scuffed etc - I like new !
