Dear RRF's, Jorge told me that, as sponsor of the forum, I was allowed to post some messages, without to be guilty for SPAM. Well, now I NEED to post a warning, and I apologize if the content of this my post will seem not so important to some readers. For me it is !

My site is DOWN, as well all my posted pictures in the web, because:
My email server (yahoo !) was again experiencing problems ! My alternative, emergency email address, just settled: leicatime@gmail.com

Yesterday, after more that one hour at the phone with a YAHOO (USA) associate, I found out what happened: seem that my "old" contract/account, settled many years ago, was still hosted into an obsolete, badly working platform(???).

Then, I am been told that I MUST to close my account, then I must to OPEN a
new account, then, after TWO DAYS OF THE WEBSITE DOWN, I will be able to
upload it again in the new platform... All that will happen from Friday the 20th,
to Tuesday the 24th of April. Almost, I hope so.

Please, don't be afraid for your possible going orders, Luigi is still there,
working, and the LONE email address useable right now is the (blessed)
new, "emergency" one, leicatime@gmail.com -

I hope to may upload again all my webpages, and pictures, in two/three days from now.

Ciao, Luigi

Hi, just an addition on what is happening... I am experiencing a real NIGHTMERE !!!
When the YAHOO associate suggested me to simply close my existing account, and
then to open a new, better working one, he told me that the possible time of site
down-suspended would have been of TWO days.

Well, today it is the 6th day of darkness, and seem that I still will need some more days !!!
The problem is that either YAHOO, and even more the Network Solutions (???) companies
are not sure that.... I am actually Luigi ! I sent many faxes, I spent hours at the phone
(Italy-USA), and the only small success that I had has been to let them understand that,
due to the site down, MY USUAL EMAIL ADDRESS WAS NOT WORKING, being it linked to the site.

Seem that them accepted now my just settled, emergency email address, and perhaps that in a
couple of days I will receive the necessary new details, and the DNS changes...

I post such news in order to explain the reason of the delay on the site restoration, BUT
also as an useful tip/warning for whom would risk the same nightmere, too ! Ciao, Luigi

Hey, I was just about to ask a question as to what happened to your site, and then I saw this.
Thanks for the prompt notification, Luigi.

Luigi, thank you for the notice about your web site. You have many very happy customers here and we appreciate your professionalism and craftsmanship.

If anyone has an order pending with Luigi I feel confident in saying that he surely will deliver the items you have purchased and I hope this message here can answer any questions you may have regarding his email or Internet problems.

Luigi you are a very considerate buisnessman and your workmanship is world class! Good luck with the switch to your new platform.

Dear Luigi,
I hope your problems will be solved without too much waist of nerves. You are the manufacturer of unique leather products for us, and therefore I cannot but wish you the best.

Cheers,
Ruben

Thanks for informing

Thanks for informing

Remember seeing your site with those lovely cases. Just got an RD1S & wanted to look for a case for the last 2 days & was told server not found. Wanted to ask in forum what has happened to your site but when I did search, I found this thread. Thanks for informing us. Will look at your new site when it's up & I hope soon:)
cheers!

Luigi,

In all the internet, your the one person that nobody has to worry about. Your straps, etc are purely a joy to behold......service is perfect as conducted by a true gentleman.....don

I'll second that. It's sad that Yahoo's services have been giving Luigi such difficulties for a very long time. I visit Luigi's site often just to window shop.

Luigi, I am sorry to hear that your Yahoo troubles have gotten worse. I hope the issue is resolved quickly.

Hi Luigi. I bought one of your cases last week and wondered why I hadn't heard from you - now I know! No problem - I know it will turn up once you've sorted things.

I visit it just to learn some new superlative adjectives. Actually, I'd buy some of his toys IF the prices were a little more reasonable. It's kinda like the Italian version of kevincameras.com.

Bill58 Leicatime is NOTHING like kevincameras, they overcharge for a product you can get anywhere, Luigi charges a fair price for fantastic products, they are expensive yes BUT so are exotic cars, they also move you from point A to point B just much more style and class than a run of the mill CHEVY.

I have his standard brown case for my R2 and I am ordering a RALLY color for my new R4M

Now I won't put one on my L since the case costs more than the camera [unless I hit the lottery in which case ALL BETS are off.

If you can show me another product that looks as good as Luigi's PLEASE let me know

Finally !.... :)

Finally !.... :)

I am so happy to may say: IT WORKS, again ! (Not at 100%, but it works...)

To change my YAHOO account was represented to me as a simple, 2-days matter.
NOT TRUE ! It took 9 days, the "Internet Solutions" Co. was in the middle,
asking me papers, faxes, Passport, driving license, telephone bills...
What I did several times ! The DNS # change, given to me the new ones
by YAHOO, then communicated by me to Network Solutions, then, not fastly,
settled by them in the (server ? Web ? Cyberspace ?), took 48 hours.

Finally, when my site surfaced, again, I discovered that MOST ot my (thousands)
files names where NO MORE ACCEPTABLE by the new server, and I had to change
each of them, carefully, slowly, manually ! (40 hours of work)

My thanks to you, and to the several patient customers which ordered items
have suffered an unwanted delay on my shippings. Many thanks (and a
respectful KISS) also to an "angel", that gave me the resolutive HELP, three
hours at the phone Roma/Houston, Texas: grazie, Monica ! You have been
patient, expert, and incredibly helpful !

My best greetings to all, Luigi

Congratulations! Hooray!

Congratulations! Hooray!

Dear Luigi,
I am very happy for you. Your site is up & running again:)

oh man! was this a backup problem? files in Yahoo's old servers that were not recoverable from Luigi's own system?

keeping mirror copy of live site, on your PC might help. makes it easier to change ISP aswell ;)

Jarsky, of course, before to start this changement, I MADE the perfect back-up of my
site in THREE different computers, in a DVD, and in a memory key !

BUT, the bad new has been that the new YAHOO server, and/or the new YAHOO
Systems does no more accept most of the files name I had in the former site folders !

As example: NO empty spaces, NO "+" signs, NO other symbols, and what was worst,
NO names starting with a digit ! NO "3G", NO "2cases", and so on...

Believe me, a real nighmere ! Ciao, Luigi

has anyone been able to contact him in the last few days?

I know it's 4 weeks after this last post but...I just won a case from Luigi on ebay, we were trying to do a work around on the invoice to add a strap, get the payment to the right account etc. Had an email from him the evening of the 12th saying he was sending a new invoice in a few minutes, never got it, and now nothing from him for 2 days.

Are his site and email accounts etc. still experiencing difficulties?

Luigi if you're reading this I just won the case for a Nikon S3, asked you to change it to black and add strap...I sent you an Echeck....send me an email when you can...
