a question for you price watchers...

can only comment on the 28/3.5. watched out for it some months and the main problem is they are hardly ever sold. the last one i saw in a regular auction on ebay went for about 340€ (black version without finder) if i remember correctly. i finally bought the 25/4 (230€ including finder) and am really happy with it.

so, that's about 450 usd...

I was looking for one for a long time. Ended up splashing the $$$$ on a 28 Summicron. I think you will get a premium because there are never any available.

Yep - it seems a little easier to find the 50 - most folks have a bunch of 50s already so demand is less. It's really an amazing little lens. So far, seems razor sharp across the frame at any aperture. I got a new one for $429.

The 28 is harder to find - but not nearly impossible. $450-$500 used, excellent cond.

Not biting. Betcha you won't do it, Joe. If you were serious, you'd just put them up auction-style and get it over with.

i am assessing my priorities...being a lowly paid not for profit worker...

i want the new ipad and i rarely use my cv 28...need to balance out my wants and needs and wishes...

do i really need 2 rd1s when i now have another camera (nikon dslr) that i like?

i rarely use the 50 on a rangefinder but like it better on the dslr...

i know i like the 21/40 combo on the rd1 so one body and 2 lenses keeps me happy.

lots to think about...

TV sucks out your creative soul - as I sit and gaze at my 60 inch flat screen I know this is true

I bought a black 28mm last fall off the bay for $358 and I love shooting with it

( hey where did the comment go that said you wanted to buy a tv)
