A Toast to Life - I almost died last week

Returned an M5 to Sherry on Monday of last week, had a heart attack on Wednesday and stents placed in the heart on Thursday. Life makes you appreciate it and as soon as you ignore it, it will reach up and slap you in the head. And I get to go back in five weeks to do another angioplasty. This is a call for a MAJOR lifestyle change.

I had a less harrowing ordeal - casually went to Emergency Department thinking sort out some difficulty - next moment rushed in on a drip with severe kidney Infection which I was informed could have finished me at 69 . It seemed so minor ...given my gender stuff , I put off anything about guy stuff-prostrate etc and was previously hurriedly checked for cancer , after 3 weeks , I was finally cleared . Scary .

54 and still have mine, but my daughter's burst during a solo training flight with the USAF a couple of years ago. Quite scary.

Congrats, Stephen.

I was 13 years old, back in the early '70s, when my appendix ruptured. Gangrene and peritonitis set in. I was about a half hour from dying. Surgery and 2 weeks in the hospital, at the old Bataan hospital in Albuquerque. My doc was Dr. Goddard, a relative of the famed rocket pioneer, and also involved in the Mercury 7 astronaut health studies.

Anyways, big scar and good story to show for it, I was lucky.

big life events can cause big changes in life...
i encourage you to stick with your new approach to life and living as it is very easy to let it slip to the back of the mind.
my heart attack changed me...for awhile but then old behaviours started to creep back into my life.
it's a constant struggle...
