I have lots of 11x14 and 9x13.5 prints which I would like to digitize for a web site. Rather than starting over scanning the negs, anyone have experience with A3 sized (11x17) scanners? (nothing on searching the site).

I had a similar idea a few years ago but I only found pro lab with an a3 scanner available, and scanning had been very expensive. I ended to rephotograph the prints and for a web use was not so bad.

I have found it unbelievably simple to scan large items in two or more parts and then merge the scan files in Photoshop.

Same here. Well, not "unbelievably simple" but certainly better than any alternative.I have found it unbelievably simple to scan large items in two or more parts and then merge the scan files in Photoshop.
