Accidental Purchase - 8.5cm f2

I was in the exact situation once. Using a Nikon S to LTM adaptor was just too much of a hassle. In the end, I just got some LTM ones. After a while, the S mount version became a shelf queen and I flogged it off eventually.

yeah, it occurred to me later that you were right. The R2S might fit the bill here. Is it difficult to focus this lens on the R2S, I believe it has a shorter baselength.

yeah raid, which is why I am leaning towards a second body. this way I can walkabout with a 28-85 combo.

As you said no to sell and get an LTM, I'd recommend that you get a good user S2 and us the full frame. Not perfect, but pretty close, that and a 28 on your M should be great.

Canon Bright Line finders are great and easier to find than Nikon. You have to be careful that it's no one for a Canon 7 as the parallax adjustment goes through a little pin in the foot. The CV finder (90) is a good option, though higher priced too.

Check here for user S2s. Beware, you might get addicted to Nikons, I know I did.

Bill: I had a chance to think through it all day, and I have decided to sell the lens. I'll search for a LTM version. It doesn't make sense for me to invest in another RF system. I'd rather get a Canon screwmount with a 85/2 LTM Nikkor. My other 50's are all screwmount lenses.

I think the Nikon RF system and me are not destined for each other. 🙂

Hi guys, I'm contemplating taking over this lens from the nice guy naruto 🙂
What I'm primarily concerned with before making up my mind is usability on S3 (framelines). I know external viewfinder is an option, but I'd rather not go that way.
So, do any of you have experience useing the 2/85 on an S3? Were you able to succesfully aproximate the framelines through the viewfinder?
I'll look through mine when i get home. In the meantime, can the owners post some sample photos please?

a) Naruto is a great guy to deal with;

b) the 10.5cm Framelines give nice, loose framing with the 8.5cm. I use it that way all the time.
