Hi,

Here's a question. If I push a medium film, say plus-x from 100 to ISO 800. Can I use it to capture action shots without blurring ?

eg. 1/800 speed and f16 Sunny 16, can I use push Plus X to capture fast moving objects without motion blur ?

I am under the impression that ISO 100 films causes blur, does it apply to pushed films ?

thanks!

Blur is a function of slow shutter speed? I don't think film speed matters at all. If you want to stop action use a fast enough shutter speed. The reason why you would push plus X, is perhaps at ISO 100 you would not be able to obtain fast enough shutter speeds in lower light situations. But no matter the light, ISO, aperture - if you have enough for fast enough shutter speeds you should be able to stop action.

Why not just shoot at F-8 instead of F-16 that way you can process the film at box speed instead of having to push it two stops?

yes, as long as the shutter speed is fast enough it will work

BUT, pushing a 100 iso film is not always nice 😀 , a 400 iso one is much better for that (personnal experience)

hi. thanks for all the reply. my current infatuation is plus-x, which is medium speed. I like it at 100 iso, 400 or even 3 stops push at 800iso despite a loss of the mid-tones.

thanks again.
