Has anyone ever heard of adding strap lugs to a camera? I was happy to recently receive my Voigtlander Bessa R3A after using only inexpensive rangefinders up until now...but there is a problem.
As many of you know, the lugs on the R3A are in a pretty bad spot. Sitting on the the front face of the camera, it makes it impossible to just carry the camera orizontally around your neck, or how I usually carry a camera, around neck/shoulder.
Has anyone moved or added lugs? Seems easy enough...but I dont know where to get the lugs or who to ask to do the machining.
I know that there is a benefit in that when lifted, the camera will swing up protecting the lens from bangs...but I am careful with my cameras and this issue is actually making me want to go back to my Yashica GTN which was almost a 20th the cost of my new Bessa. I LOVE this camera and want to figure it out.
(PS. I know about the Voigtlander side grip...but a) it only moves one of the 2 lugs to the side and b) i dont want the added weight/bulk of the grip).
Thanks
