I'm very curious- I have a Fed 2 that has slow shutter speeds throughout the range of speeds on this camera. How do you check the speeds to be sure and more importantly to me, how do you calibrate the shutter to be as close to the "correct" speed as possible. TIA for any explanation.

Yeh, thanks, I did read it but didn't understand it the first time, Re-read it and it makes more sense now. I should have stated that in the initial post. But,hey, thanks for responding.🙂

Regarding adjustment, assuming that your shutter works at all (meaning B, 1/30 and 1/500 all produce different behaviour), you can use the instructions from the sticky thread mentioned by zorroflores 🙂 (EDIT: But you've found that all by yourself in the meantime! 😉)

Regarding shutter speeds and how to determine how fast our shutter really is, there are a number of circuit diagrams and build instructions for shutter speed testers on the Internet; most are actually fairly easy to build even with no background in electronics. We also had a thread about shutter speed testers here that went into some detail.
