Hi, I'm fiddling with lightroom, aperture in 10.5 doesn't like the RD-1... again.

anyway, in aperture there's a setting for B&W film with a particular filter, green, red whatever.

is there a similar quick setting in Lightroom?

thanks for the help.

I just used the Beta version. But I think I remember that you could make filters from all or any three colors and then save them as presets.

There is not.

However, if you convert to greyscale and scroll down there is a place to change how much effect red has on the scene. It's like using and adjustable red filter...

stupid question (because I could test and I have but still) but here it goes:

if I take a B/W RAW picture with a digital filter (camera Epson R-D1) what does the Lightroom default presets do for this filter effect? Does it take out the filter effect and do I have to recreate it again with color channels?

Yes, that's how it works in Lightroom--it's actually quite a bit more versatile than a virtual filter would be...just another way of working.

I have the Rob Sheppard Lightroom book...the Focal Press one. At first it seemed kind of dumb to buy a book for such a simple program...but Lightroom is deceptively deep and the book has turned out to be really handy.
