Adorama and the infinite let down.

I have just had the first order coming from Adorama.
I decided to change my RZ system to Fuji GX system, so I was lurking for some. KEH didnt have one on stock, so I went to Adorama. It was holidays, and luckily they had one. Seriously, their price was so low that I thought I should buy a new glass. An E- GX680 III for 149 bucks? Oh man. I also bought some lenses from them, a 80 5.6 for 30 bucks! a 135 and 210, all for less than KEH price. Because I dont live in the States, I sent an email to Helen for details. She almost replied right away, on Sunday! And then another guy from her department replied very fast too, he told me they've already packed it! Fast and reliable.
Shipment came today. Of course grading is not as high as KEH (they are too negative about their equipments) but it not also too far off, according to my grading system. Everything works fine, but the most surprising is that 30$ lens, since I remember they told me the lens has fungus and haze. It turned out no fungus, no haze, only few minor cleaning marks.
I am very happy with this, and will continue buying from Adorama again.

Agreed. As KEH has spiraled a bit lately, I have a new found appreciation for the very forthright Adorama descriptions. If something is ****** -they don't pull any punches! I have been very happy with them and Ms. Helen's attention.

1) Guarantee. Theres no guarantee anywhere. Just look through this thread and read about people unsatisfied. We're talking about used camera equipment here.

There aren't many eBay sellers that I'm aware of who offer a 6 month warranty plus 30-days returns period on used items!

Kinda self explanatory. KEH also has 6 months and 14 days return.

Never have bought used from B&H.

Bought used from Adorama. Called them up, bargained with the salesperson (try that with KEH) and the item was better than expected.

Bought from KEH multiple times. Usually conservatively rated.

Bought from eBay and CL more times than I can remember. Nearly always come out ahead, but as photomoof says, if you keep your expectations low things usually work out.

Recently returned some items to KEH due to bad grading on their part. I got a really nice IIIG in "Ex+" that truely was a great deal, but I returned a LTM Leicavit that was also rated "Ex+" that didn't hit the mark.

Anyways in my book the standards are a lot looser than they use to be. My cost was the return shipping. Sometimes I'm lucky: sometimes I'm not. Oh-Well.
