Any particular reason?

Hard covers can seem pretentious. That is fine for a wedding album, but sometimes you want to emphasize the photographs more than the book. What is unique about the adorama service it uses photographic paper as opposed being printed and bound like a 'published book'. A soft cover would seem more like a bound set of original prints, kind of like an artist handing you a box of loose 8x10 print too leaf through.

I'm looking forward to dropping by to see the new paper.

I've used Adorama for prints and would like to have gone with them for my new book, Georgia: A Backroads Portrait, but it's 144 pages, hard cover with a dust jacket, so had to use Blurb. I'm getting three copies at $115 each to show around to seek a publisher, corporate sponsors, or pre-publication orders.

DaveL--the location is on the square in Decatur--they have a website, I'm sure.
We went a couple years ago--VERY crowded! And fun--lots of photo ops, for sure.

In the meantime, I wil see how difficult it would be to rebuild my book on Blurb. They don't have the size I was looking for but the dust jacket is a plus and the prices are a lot cheaper. No idea about the quality and if pages fall out or not.😕

Okay, Blurb does not offer the size I wanted. The software is not nearly as good as AdoramaPix.

I haven't confirmed yet, but does Blurb store the photos on their server or use your own computer? I have no intention of building a book on my own computer as I have BTDT with My Pub. and it constantly crashed my computer.😕

I've used AdoramaPix for prints. They do a great job. Their books are essentially bound photo prints, on photo paper. This is a huge step up from Blurb etc. I found Blurb to be rather disappointing for anything but casual use. Of course, the result is that the cost is around that of prints, plus a little extra for bindings, covers etc. Nevertheless, if you want to end up with a serious result it is a great option.

I have had several books and prints done by Adorama and all off them are stunning!

Anyone here had a book printed with AdoramaPix?

I am ready to order now that my photo essay is finished. My Publisher was a disaster but the process with AdoramaPix was quite easy. Not happy about the 50 page limit stepping up to 76 pages for a substantially higher price, nor the limited fonts (never could get rid of the shadow on the text), or the dust jacket without some inside flaps to place narrative and photos.

However, I enjoyed working with the software and the fact that the images are stored on THEIR server, not on mine which bogged my computer down and caused My Publisher to crash and lose all of the work TWICE.

The final has a white background spine with everything else the same as above.

Can you please add a simple design with just all white or black pages and one image per page?

For example I needed to copy and paste the design for every page for my Holga shots book. Very simple one square shot centered per (square) page.

Yes, Helen, I've used Adoramapix twice now and have been happy. The Kodak paper is a plus. Another company had a true B&W paper which I really liked but I just had too many other quality control problems with them. Anyway, it is nice to have you with us, I'm sure that your feedback will be appreciated.

We have templates that will fill the entire page, or you can start with a blank book and take it from there.
