Hi all!

I noticed, more or less by chance, that the pictures on the negatives often are not positioned symmetrically between the perforations. This is not dependent on film brand. Sometimes the bottom of the picture lines up with the upper ridge of perforation. Did you observe something like that? Is this feature the reason to get my camera (MP) serviced? Thanks.

a half dozen empty threads; my congratulations!
And a double reply! Congrats too!

Apparently RFF suffered some upload problems about 1-2 hours ago. That explains Zdeneks multiple uploads.

Ahoj Zdenek,

how are you?

Some "specialist" say this could be caused by useing different lenses
they make a different thick black frame, also depending on wich distance the focus is set.

best regards to Praha

(wisch I had time to visit you)

This shouldn't be happening on a MP. Probably operator error. After you initially load the film, before closing the base, pop the back open and make sure the film is engaged in the sprockets. Make one advance while watching with the back open to make sure.

Ahoj Martin,

Nice that I am not forgotten! I am fine but I wish to have more time to learn how to take much better pictures. 🙂 🙂 I hope you are doing well too.

Best regards,

Shouldn't be. If properly loaded, the film should ride between the guide rails, with the pressure plate holding the film in place. I would take John's advice and observe the film with the back open. You also may want to turn the rewind knob to add some tension to the film to hold it in place, then close the back. Stu

I have never had that problem with my M4 only my IIIc, but that is normal for a IIIc. I would do as others have suggested and flip the back up when loading to make sure the film is properly positioned.

Best regards,

how can I forget you?
Leica MP and Luigi Case in Prague on the Hradschin.

No, that's not possible.

But tell me, where are your problems in taking photos?

Can a fish living in the water not swim,
is there a bird in the sky who can't fly?

And you, living next to Sudeks garden,
you don't find a way to take photos?

Than study all these old masters in your hometown,
where so many places can be photographed in all the seasons.

Best luck to you,

martin

Hi Martin,

I want to say that I have not as much time as I want to have. So my "photo trips" are not too frequent.

Best,

Zdenek
