Airlines-- carry on changes, again.

Hand inspection, really? When planes fall down from skies and it's not going to look any better in near future, what one really expects from security people, to not put Leica/Nikon/whatever shaped bomb through scanner?

My cameras in the backpack went through the x-ray scanner. Just a clear plastic bag of film canisters were "hand inspected".

I'm afraid that flying, and traveling in general will be only more complicated in future.
After the "accident" on the Amsterdam-Paris train last august blocked thanks to three americans (one of them seriously injured) the european authorities are introducing for the high speed trains procedures similar to the ones used in the airports.

As amateur for me the answer is small cameras and digital. Keep it simple.

For pro photographers who need specific equipment it will be not easy.
