I recently purchased a M7 and love it. I have a M3 and M6 but the M7 now is my go to camera. Now I'm thinking about buying a new M7 and make it my own. Black paint, MP style levers, Vulkanit, and 28, 35, 50 framelines. Classic engravings too.

My question to others who went the ala carte way, how long after you put your order in did you receive your camera?

TIA--Bill

I'd be interested in hearing others experiences on this as well - I've oft considered going that route too with a new M7 :)

cheers,
Dave

I have ordered two a-la-carte (one just like yours) and both took about 12 weeks.

Cheers!

Do you still have the "just like yours" M7? I'd sure like to see how it's doing since you bought it, but mainly I'd like to see a bigger picture than the ala carte configurater shows.

Awesome!

If you could live without the Black Paint model, you could probably buy one used and get the work done. Maybe even afford 2 used M7's!

I would love to have an Ala Carte camera. When I was in the market for an MP, somebody offered to sell me their Ala Carte MP, but quickly backed out of the deal. Too bad... :(

Not to nickel and dime this, but will the configuration price be the same with whoever I decide to send in the order? Anyone know if you can have the chrome ring above the advance lever, and hotshoe painted black? Might be pushing it here--request a black dot?

Pricing should be the same from whatever dealer you use. Payment is up front too.

I'd expect you could request any color parts that are normally available. I'm considering another MP, and would want orange, not red infill on the shutter speed dial & rewind knob. Black hotshoe too.

I don;t think the black dot is ever coming back- some legal wrangling about that.

Looking at the configured M7 I want there is no dot and M7 in front.

So, no more black dots? Makes my "black dot" wetzlar M6 kinda rare ;)

Sent in my configuration and request for a few other things. We'll see what they say.

i've got riccis' ala m7.
i love it.

it looks beat up and well used.
the enamel scratches but the paint is hard and will wear well with time.
much stronger than the m9 paint.

here's a photo of my m9, the m7 is only brassed around the rim really...
