Reminds me of the bright green and red repainted Revox B790 turntables that were being listed for several thousand more than market price.
 
The anchor principle tends to work very well in Leica-land. You start out looking at a Noctilux and then all of a sudden an 8 element Summicron seems reasonable in price. :)
 
This type of thing turns up pretty regularly on ebay. Someone lists a pie-in-the-sky price for some quasi-rare camera and hopes for someone with more money than sense to come around and buy.
 
Well, I guess you only need one buyer but I wish they wouldn't do it. There's enough people looking at ebay prices and then thinking that's the market price, sold or unsold.
