An attempt to raise money via a calendar

I have this gear-head side to me (that many of us have, I think) that would cause me to enjoy a calendar of pictures OF classic RF cameras (as well as the already mentioned idea of photos taken with RF cameras.)

I don't have too many RF photos available at the moment, but I'd gladly buy a calendar to support this site.

Now that is a terrific idea Frank! I'd have to get at least 2 such "Pictures of RF cameras" themed calendars. 🙂

Cheers,

You know how firefighters, women's rugby teams, swim teams, etc. do nude calendars to raise money? Naw, forget about it!

But if we held our cameras in a strategic location....

Then we'd see how much money we'd pay to make sure it never sees the light of day.

Aah, what the heck...

I'm in. Tell me when they ship, tell me if theres a possibility of having a picture taken by somebody I know in it, and tell me the price.

I'd be happy to help the forum cause.

Not quite sure how economical it would be,
but have (as prior mentioned) themes, possibly like

Subways
City Vehicles
Solitary Trees/Plants
Pedestrians
Other cameras
Walk-Up-To-A-Random-Person-And-Ask-For-A-Portrait-of-Them

personally, I think the last one would be pretty fun to do as a solo project...

Jorge, you wouldn't by chance already have your 12 images chosen for the calendar, would you? 😉 Are These THEM ?

It's a great idea for a fundraiser, btw.

🙂

ha ha, no kidding. . . that would be almost appropriate, but maybe give this to those who would have been chosen but were not. . . .

I like Franks idea with a twist, maybe a camera and coffee calender??

Something thematic would be nice, and possibly a couple of calendars. Most likely, it would be a 2007 calendar, though, so there's time to brainstorm.

🙂

I'd like to contribute if possible. I'm also good for buying one or two to help support the place whether I'm in it or not. 🙂

I'll submit a photo of your choice to necessary dimensions if you want one of my images in the gallery and I'll purchase a calendar.

FWIW ; instead of shots how about 'portraits' of rangefinders and a 'bio' of the camera. Might have more interest as a resource. It could be eventually bound after a couple of years into a resource book for additional revenue. Who better that RFF to put out a reference like that.

Nope, nothingchosen yet. I still need to look into what ittakes to do this. Thi is just a straw man test 🙂

Been only glancing at this thread but I _like_ Jan's idea. I'd be able to buy several for friends/relations then to give some basis for these odd little toys I play with. Perhaps split the difference between a daily calendar and the traditonal monthly one and do a daytimer style weekly calendar. Then you could do 52 cameras in a year ... 🙂

Excellent idea.

Personally, I love the postcard-calendar type, which basically has a postcard-sized photo above a monthly (or weekly) calendar strip. When the month (or week) is over, you tear off the page, then break off the calendar strip and end up with a perfectly usable picture-postcard, with space for writing and addressing on the back.

I like the idea of daily or weekly calenders as well as a monthly one. Besides offering more chances of members seeing their pics in them, you also have more products to sell.

one way to find out who's galleries you could choose from would be a full membership email, asking that they simply reply if permission is granted.

I'd be happy to help out in any way I can.

I'm in.

Another option - turn on subscriptions here at RFF a la pnet.
You can even have a little icon or something displayed at paying members avatar.
I'd pay 20 bucks/year for instance.
