An Update on My Son

Ow. Just wow. I think I read your post a half dozen times. I'm amazed at the community here. I am thrilled to hear how the difficult times have become a success story. This has truly made my day.

Feel good stories always feel good Chris

Dear Chris,

Congratulations to both you and Mack.

I mostly read here, and haven't been participating for very long, but I'd also like to offer congratulations to the members of this message board who opened up years ago.

All to often our attention is occupied by the bad things on the internet. This story should be required reading for all internet denizens for no other reason than to show it is capable of good.

Take care and keep us updated.

Regards,

Tim Murphy

That's an amazing story...and he truly is an artist...must get that from his Pops...
Thanks for sharing with our Community...

What an uplifting account!

Chris, since I joined RFF I have followed you and Mack through your posts. I could see a loving, dedicated father and a deserving son, but I never knew the backstory. (I've also been grateful to you for the amazing efforts you have put into sharing your knowledge of photography with this community and with other aspiring photographers. You are truly a kind, giving person.)

A great pat on the back (and a little bit more!) to the RFF community that rallied round Mack for that Christmas ten years ago!

To Chris, I'm moved by what I have seen of you as a father - your love and sacrifices for your son - and it is so encouraging to see him doing so well. Be proud, indeed!

To Mack, I'm really impressed with what you are doing - your accomplishments as a student and as an artist. It all bodes well for a very promising future and I look forward to future accounts of your growth and success!

I came here to RFF in 2005 about the time you were going to collect your son Mack.
So much has transpired since then but you and your son's stories inspire on so many
levels. I'm so happy to have been a small part of it. Continued success to both of you.

Chris, your story has made this wonderful day for me.
Boy did I need to hear some good news, and you told it.

Best wishes to you and that very cool son of yours !!

Congratulations to you both.

To your son for his outstanding achievements and success, and to you for the love, nurturing and stability you provided during those difficult times.

John

Wonderful story. You must be really proud of him!

FYI, NASA has some good intern programs for college students, both for engineers and non-engineers. Might be something to look into if he is interested in that type of career.
