Howdy, I decided to take my camera with me to san fransisco while I was attending a conference. I was able to get out and do some shooting, and also record some footage for another pov video.

My first video was generally well received by rff, so I hope you guys like this one as well!

Thank you very much for posting that. Having worked and lived in San Francisco, the environment was very familiar to me. But more importantly, seeing how you go from seeing a general scene to a particular static image was very educational to me. Not entirely sure why, since I have done street photography in SF myself, but I still felt like it was teaching me something. So, thank you!

Nice to see another one of these videos. Thanks for uploading and I like the way you see things. I really enjoy seeing you take a shot then visualizing how I would take it and then seeing your actual photo. I even anticipate the click of the camera (gotta love that Leica click and advance).
I notice that at times you get uncomfortably (for me) close to your subjects. How do you do this? Any bad experiences with this? Also, do you scale focus a lot? Thanks.

Good job, that's a cool set of photographs.
Do you mount the video on your hat or are you blessed with the third arm? :D

Thanks for the remarks. I enjoyed SF and wish I could of stayed longer. I was only able to get out about a mile or so in all directions from my hotel before I had to go back. The light was very similar to the light in nashville, so I was able to adapt fairly quickly.

Thanks, I plan on putting out some more videos. Just have to find the time to go out and shoot/edit video.

When I get close to someone, it is for very specific reasons. My work generally deals with anonimity, so shooting someone so you recognize them has to be done with care. When I do this you kind of have to read the scene, and the person you plan on shooting. If they seem like the type of person that will get confrontational, then be prepared to talk to them, or run like hell. I have had a few bad experiences with doing that. The most noteable one was when I was shooting in nashville, and a woman tried to take my camera and film. The situation was getting very ugly but I was able to calmly talk her down.

Yes, I do scale focus a lot. I rarely actually use the rangefinder focus, and choose to take what little time I have for framing, knowing my scale focusing is usually right 99% of the time. I usually walk around with my lens already set to 7 ft, and adjust accordingly.

Thanks! I actually mount the gopro to my hotshoe with this little adapter.

Thanks for the very interesting video. It's a different perspective on street shooting, especially when you include the resulting images.
