I bought my first rangefinder on Ebay a few weeks ago: a GSN for about $12. It came with a caustic mess of exploded battery and corroded-through ground wire, but thanks to the great repair info on the 'net, I managed to clean/resolder everything and redo the light seals. I put my first roll through it this past weekend, mostly to see if my light seals were leaking.

I have to say, I'm very happy, everything I had read about the sharpness of the optics and general quality of these cameras has been borne out. I'm excited about shooting more with it. My thanks to all for the info and resources provided here.

I've included a few test shots from my back yard, on $1 Walgreens 400, no software sharpening:

You've got yourself a nice camera, for sure. Beautiful Autumn shots, too.
I'm putting a roll of Acros through my Lynx 5000- with electrical tape over the back cover, just in case. I'm due for a crazy light seal session on a half dozen cameras, including this one.

Thanks for sharing :)
