Any Nikon SLR user?

A mint black F? Oh my, I must see that sometime soon. What year? I had a mint black 1972 F with standard and photomic prisms and mistakenly sold it in 1982 or so...bad move. I have a nice chrome 64xxx F and a red dot chrome F. Also have boxed light meters, waist level finder, filters, N-K body caps, literature, and several "cm" lenses (including 2.1cm f4 and 10.5cm f4 "T" lenses), but no tick mark lenses.

Bob- I didn't know you were a Nikon SLR man as well. I have a beauty queen in this genre as well, a mint black F. I know you must have something interesting on the shelf!

I started with Minolta SLRs so when I got into Nikon I found the focusing orientation a pain at first but soon got used to it. Today I use Nikon SLRs for all my 35mm shooting. I have an FM3a and F6. The latter in particular is an utterly thrilling camera to shoot with.

(My only rangefinder is a Mamiya 6. I'd love to get into a 35mm rangefinder system for the super wide angle lenses but always find peering through 35mm RF finders disappointing as a glasses wearer - even the Leica 0.58 finder. Might have to try an Ikon or Bessa R4.)

I actually need to have a look at the serial number, I don't remember the year. My Dad was a big F shooter (in addition to Leica) and although I have his F I felt the need for a black one. Love the old black F's. I need to get a standard finder, they look great and are quite fun to use.

I believe I have a couple tick mark lenses from my Dad... you've inspired me to have a look! Never used the 105/4, only my 105/2.5.

This is classified information, not for general disclosure (I'm a Leica man, as everyone here knows). So don't tell anyone, but I have a pair of chrome FE2's, a black FA, and an F100. Lenses are: 15mm f/3.5 Nikkor; 18mm f/4 Nikkor; 20mm f/4 Nikkor; 24mm f/2.8 Nikkor; 28mm f/2.8 Nikkor; 28mm PC Nikkor; 35mm PC Nikkor; 50/1.4 Nikkor; 50/1.8 Nikkor; 180/2.8 Nikkor. I've shot tons of slides with the FE2's, in Colorado and Missouri. I tried an F3, but didn't like it too well.

How do you like the FA? That's a little bit of a cult camera nowadays.
