Of course you'll need the instruction booklet to go with it....

Well, duh, it's Photo-Arsenal. If you didn't buy it from them, you didn't pay obscenely too much for it

If they had just had free shipping, I would have done it. You know, for that much I would expect hand delivery. I think they are just setting up the insurance company for them to get hit by Oceans 18!

I'd have to disagree with you. I think Photo-Arsenal is reasonable. For example, I'm about to get this S2 with some spare change lying around. I really like S2s, so I think I'll engrave my name on the top plate.

And some people complain about the 50 Summicron and Summilux version variations.f2eyelevel said:And this is probably a FAKE black paint S2. According to the lens mount helical, this should be a "black dial" black paint S2. But the speeds dial selector is a (re)painted "chrome dial" one !
So, it's either a mix of chrome dial/black dial S2 parts fitted on an original black paint S2 body, or a "chrome dial" S2 fitted with a "black dial" S2 lens mount helical, and painted back in black by some aftermarket artisan... the bubbling paint finish making the latter option quite probable.
There are some clearer explanations about what a "black Nikon S2 black dial" actually is here :

I wonder if Thomas Harris could be persuaded into writing a chapter where Hannibal's first signs of madness were shown after meeting with a number of rangefinder collectors.

There is no serial number shown on the black S2 - most probably to protect the names of the innocent....as far as the Nikon 1 goes...no motor drive with the sale so it's not for me.
