Anyone in the market for a cheap M7?

These guys are ridiculous. Yet I would not be surprised if a collector pulled the trigger on this. Hey where's that picture of the long haired guy they used to display in their auctions? 😀

yuh really hafta wonder how such a bunch of sleazes got a hold of this camera.

Also.......in the document they posted online, Salgado says he wants to AUCTION the camera. However, this is no auction. This is a buy-it-now. The whole thing stinks, at least to me.

Yet another contradiction:
The ad claims this camera has the serial number of 3000000.
Yet the rest of the photos and documents presented show the camera has having serial number of 1954.
Inspires confidence, don't it?

The camera WAS originally auctioned off, and the proceeds going to charity as the paper says.

HOWEVER, the auction is NOT the sale by these guys - and posting the original letter that has NOTHING to do with this sale is, as far as I'm concerned, a disgusting trick only the hideously unscrupulous would try.

I think the serial no. on the hot shoe reads 300000.

Yeah you are right - the letter is dated November 2005...
Wow - They have no morals.

I once wanted to buy OM 50/1.2 from them... And deliver it to my relatives in Germany, and guy with what I was talking to said that the shipping over Germany will cost me about 20-30% of the price... I think that was some kind of disunderstanding at first, but when I asked him to explaine for what exactly I gonna pay this $200, he answers that it is some kind of their delivery system... 😡

I refused to buy it... I think it was a lie...

The camera and lenses are gourgeus... Happy some rich old grandpa will put it in his cupboard...
It's too BAD that having such great gear, they don't wish to sell it to people who will use it properly... I think this is killing of what Leica cameras were made for...🙁

PS: THERE was a thread of this M7... And I'd rather look on some chip looking M7 then on this....

And secondly, this whole M7 Titanium auction thing... you might consider that Salgado sold it at an earlier auction years ago, which is perhaps when Arsenal (or someone else) purchased it. And now, they're simply turning it around and selling it again. If that's the case, that's hardly unethical.

Just something to consider during the lynching. 😉

It's the fact that they are trying to pass of this auction as for charity using Salgado's original letter that people are objecting to, not the auction per-se... IMHO its advertised under false pretences...
