Anyone shooting a truly Point-and-Shoot Camera?

I know there aren't too many out there, but the Leica D-Lux 3 is my pocket p&s. Auto focus, aperture-priority auto-exp., zoom and shoot is all you do. I wear it on a lanyard around my neck the way others wear an iPod (my Nano is in my pocket).

Completely reliable and totally discreet.

I got a Stylus Epic just last week. I wanted something small (and cheap) to shove in my pocket, but didn't want digital. I like it so far.

@bhop73 i just ventured into the goodwill and bought a oly stylus and stylus zoom for about 10 bucks both with batteries.

the zoom i shot a roll of expired fuji 800 really nice results! going to send the one i shot with the stylus to the walgreens in the morning...

super excited now to see the results after seeing your shots!

Until I just got this Canon S90 for Yule, I had been making due with a second hand SD700IS point and shoot. Always have been pretty happy with the snaps when I had lots of light, but it suffered greatly in available darkness (prompting my desire for this S90!)

Still, it has been a fine camera when i couldn't (or didn't want to) carry an SLR. I have now given it to my wife to play with. She has almost NO interest in photography, so it will more than meet her wants. :)

Hi there.. I dont have many posts here, but this was shot with a Canon Powershot A620 in A-mode.. I hade to stand there like a fool for several seconds before the camera had focused and shutterlag had finished.. But I got the shot :)

Now I shoot with a Panasonic LX3 instead, P-mode, the zoom at 28mm and manual foucs set to like 2-3 meters. Works for everything as I dont really care about sharpness anymore. Im going for storytelling instead :)

I gave away my last film P&S. I now use a Lumix TZ3. Excellent lens, but very little manual control, but that what makes it a P&S!

I have a Bessa L w/o a finder or a rangefinder. Does that count? It's more like a point and hope. Surprisingly it's worked out pretty well.

Here's a shot from it w/ a 50 Leica collapsible.

I shoot a Nikon Lite*Touch AF. It has a 28mm/3.5, fits in your pocket (smaller than Stylus) and is pretty sharp. The picture below was Legacy Pro 100 (Acros) in 1:50 Rodinal.

There is/was a guy on eBay selling refurb Stylus Epic Zooms (38-115mm) with a battery for $15 shipped. I got mine today and am quickly going through a roll to try it out. The lens is a bit slow, but hey, you get what you pay for. (f/4.6-10.9). It also looks ridiculously phallic when you extend the zoom all the way.

For digital I shoot the Panasonic LX3 and the Sigma DP2 - but I have the option of exercising lots of control with these two.

So I will be like the 7th vote in this thread for the Yashica T4. I bought this camera new and it is the only bit of photo gear I own that has actually increased in value. Not that it matters; I'm not selling. The T4 has been all over the world with me - great little camera.
