anyone using the domke 5xc?

The 5xc is like a 5xb with a room addition on the bottom with its own entrance.

I have one but I use it for my DSLR crop camera, a Canon Xsi. I put the Xsi wearing a Tamron 17-50/2.8 in the top and have a Canon 70-200/4 riding in the bottom with batteries and cards riding in the pockets.

I bought it specifically for this DSLR kit as the lenses, even with the "smaller" primes, are just flat-out big.

I don't think I'd use it for an RF kit though. Too big for my taste for RF, though lots and lots of people use F-803's, which are even a little bigger. (Right now, my F-803 is holding my 4x5 Graphic).

I like the bag because the top-end is like the F-5xb which is my ideal all-round photo bag.

no, but i use the 5xb. it fits a m body with lens, another lens, and assessories. it is well-made and certainly doesn't look like a camera bag (once you clip the domke tag).

I just got a 5xb before I saw that there was a 5xc... it's more like my perfect bag. I find the 5xb a little too small, with me wanting more space. By the description of a small compartment at the bottom, it's perfect to what I am looking for... oh well...

Joe, I know for a fact you had an Domke F5-XB. Just extrapolate!

I have one and it's actually *too big* for my rather barebones SLR kit.
My daughter's guinea pig would probably fit in the bottom compartment.

i saw the 'wax' version of the 5xc, it's called the 5xz locally, last week.

i could not find the lower compartment, is there a zipper under the wrap around trim?

i like the shape of it and maybe the lower section could hold my phone, finders etc?

I use the Domke F-2 bag, which can hold a lot of rangefinder gear. If I was going to get a smaller bag the F-5XC would be the one. The bottom compartment seems like a nice feature.

Joe,
as far as I know, the f5xc Waxwear does not have the lower access/compartment. I too am checking the Waxwear series out - they have a couple in stock here locally...

Anyone wanna trade their 5xc for my 5xb? hehe I googled and researched and decided that it's the perfect bag for me. the 5xb was near perfect, but the lower compartment of the 5xc was the clincher for me...
