Anyone watched "Closer"?

Just wanted to share that I thought the best performer in the movie "Closer" was....


The Chrome M6 that Julia Roberts shoots....

Hey... that was with the Hassy.

What I loved was that she was manually winding the M6 to no end when it was attached to a motor-drive!

But she sure looked cool carrying an M6 rangefinder rather than an SLR...

she photographs "alice" with the m6, but the print in the gallery is square with black borders. roberts should have used the other m6, a mamiya 6, to maintain continuity and get the change of pace that part of the scene needed....hehe. maybe there was a miscommunication?

you know i poited all this out to my gf while we were watching and she didn't seem to care...the gallery print thing really bothered me too.

my comments were "oohhh nice camera, you see that one? i want that one because..."

Julia Roberts holding a Leica. Had a dream like that once... at least it started out with that. I saw "Big Fish" again last night. At first I thought the daughter-in-law had a Digilux 2 but then I paused it and realized that she was shooting with an M7! NICE!

I think every movie ever made has these kinds of "mistakes" in them. There are internet sites devoted to that kind of thing.

Off-topic a bit: a few days ago, I saw a movie about a photographer who always falls in love with young chicks and he can see the talent in them and he tries to convince them to stay with him for 5 years so he can make a real artist out of them. Eventually they all leave because the guy is insupportable and so on. Finally they all gather at his bed when he is dying and take a semi-nude gropu photo for him.
But the movie is quite good, and the photos in it are great too🙂
I think it's called Guinevere, because that's how he called each girl.

And then she opened her mouth and you realized she has the intelligence of a 2nd grader. Have you ever heard an interview of her? Did you read the interview she gave to American Photo about this movie? Embarrassing, I was surprised they didn't have an editor with the guts to not run it to protect her. Very bad.

You should all watch a documentary Julia Roberts made about Oranutans (however your really spell that...who's the second grader?) Anyway, there's this great part where the big male elder orangutan charges out of the jungle, throws Julia over his shoulders and takes off back into the jungle...the camera falls, the crew chases after her. It was one of the best things I ever saw on film.
