New York April Meet-Up

Dunstan, sounds good, let's do it, next weekend?

Anyone has a ZM Sonnar 50 1.5 or CV 50 Nokton 1.5? I have never tried these two lenses, maybe I shouldn't...

Tung,
I have a CV 50 Nokton 1.5 that I can bring to the next meeting or outing.
Looks like I will be in Florida for the shuttle launch on May 1. However, I may be able to meet for the next group outing if you are able to arrange one in April - as long as it is not the 23rd.

Sunday, May 1 works for me, so count me in.

Inspired by the jsrocket's Bessa R3 at the last meetup, I'll bring my Zeiss Ikon for this one.

Maybe someone will have an X100 to show off? ;)

Also, I think I will be parting ways with a Color Skopar Classic 35mm f/2.5 (LTM, six-bit coded adapter, box, LH-2 hood, etc.). If anyone is interested, let me know and I'll bring it.

Scott,

How do you like the Ikon?
I looked at one (used) at B&H, but I wasn't to keen on the loud shutter noise..
Though, I bet the VF has less flare then the M6ttl.

:)

hey Tung,
this coming weekend is kinda tough for me. how about the following weekend, the the 23rd or 24th? anyone else? let me know, so maybe we can squeeze in another outing before the upcoming meetup on the 1st.

Understandable...you don't want to get too behind. Come to the meet-up at Puck Fair on May 1. You don't have to take photos... just come meet some fellow NY-ers, look at gear, talk and learn from others, and have a drink (alcohol or non). Perhaps someone will have a TLR for you to check out.

Currently still waiting to hear about darkroom situation...:( Would love to see the TLR, but also, if it's not too much to ask, would love to look at some prints (from wet-printing) that came out of the gears. It's just nice and grounding to be able to hold a piece of the image captured and magically materialized!

I shoot a lot, but at this time I do not wet print because I want to print very-very big.

The negatives from MF kinda speak and express themselves on a light table where you can see the detail even without a lupe.

The thing about shooting 120 is the much bigger negative and all the added detail. No need for prints if you know what a good/great negative looks like.

Hey Cal, not sure if you remember me, Fidel, I was at the first meet, Dec..? Just saying hello, hopefully I can make this one coming up.. You walked by me the other day, Friday maybe? I was having a smoke at work, Lex and 59th, noticed the M6, grip as you passed.

Of course I remember. I've been thinking about what you said about being able to meter without looking through the VF'er. Been fighting the GAS for a M3 with a MR-4 meter. Perhaps if I win a NYFA Fellowship this year I can finally get one.

Have you ru into Cory B. lately? Is the baby allowing you much sleep?

I haven't wet printed in many years. All of my wet print stuff is stored up at my parent's house. :( Anyway, I'm mostly digital these days and am one of the few that prefer it that way (since I can do everything in my apartment at any time I want).

I'm not so sure that we see too many wet prints at the meet-ups. Mostly digital prints. Feel free to bring some though.

HLING,

Decades ago I was a really great printer. I haven't printed in decades, since art school, and now I'm an old man (old hippy). I'll try and dig something up.

Just to let you know way back then Ilford had just come out with a new film called HP5 to challenge Kodak. LOL.

Sleep? HA!!, no, between kid, and HD upgrade at work, I forgot what a bed feels like.. Cory B isnt getting much love from Newark, I think hes in hiding,,,
I almost made it to the meet a few months ago at the white horse i think..? made it to the entrance, saw Rob and wife walk in, got a call from work, turned right back around... o well.

My dream , the meter, I think Im just going to find a Nikon 35TI, never used one, but seems like that will work..

Fidel,

Hopefully you can make it to the April Meet-Up May 1st. That M6 from over a year ago is all pimped out. Got a complete overhaul from Sherry, plus a MP finder upgrade.

Do you remember no good Andre with the TLR from that first meet-Up? Since then Andre has cost me tens of thousands in MF cameras. LOL. Been shooting like a maniac, developing 30 rolls at a time, but so far no wet printing.

See you soon.

Thanks, Tony, Looks like it's gonna be May 1 & April 23rd for the meet up and outing... I guess I will see you & your Nokton ;) in the meet up after this one.

Hi guys,
I would really like to join the meeting, but I cant be sure yet... because of work.
If I have time to pass by, how would I know it's you, RFFers?
