My family and I will be going to the aquarium they've opened up at Crown Plaza here in KC (along with Legoland). While I wish I could add the sixty macro to my current 35 and X Pro 1 kit, I think that would get me skinned. I'll also have my EF-X20 along with me.

Is there any inexpensive equipment (e.g. polarizer) that would help me with shots of the wee fish?

Any other tips you can pass on for shooting in the aquarium environment?

Depends.

Outdoor exhibits tend to require telephoto because you either dont know where you'll sit or you don't want to get wet.

The indoor top lit displays usu require high ISO and some telephoto as well.

This changes if you want to do full displays with motion blur.

I think your high ISO cam will do fine.

First, I'm excited to see another KC resident (assuming such!) on RFF. Always a welcome surprise.

Second, I don't have the X-Pro 1, but my X100 has an underwater white balance setting for aquariums and such. I've not had the opportunity to use it yet, but perhaps if the X-Pro has a similar setting it will help.

Good luck!

Thanks. We're currently living up here at Leavenworth, Ks so the greater KC area.

The XP1 has the same Aquarium WB setting at the X100.
