The M7 one is certainly different from the M6/M6-TTL/MP ones as it has the DX film speed setting and so has to intercommunicate with the camera more. You really ought to check with a knowledgeable repairman or Leica service before exchanging backs because they could have different resistance values for film speed settings. I don't know if this is true or false, but you want to be sure before you run film right?
