I thought that the "dream outfit" in that era was 2x M (wide and standard) + F (long).
A French female war photographer (don't recall her name at the moment but you will for sure, Roger) covered the Vietnam war using a Nikon S3.

Robert Capa covered early Vietnam with a Nikon (the camera he was carrying survived his death).

Sanford Roth liked to loan his Nikon SP to Romy Schneider, which made Luchino Visconti quite pensive about this :

I can load a CL faster then my m6. The back on CL is similar to the Nikon RF. the trick w/ the CL was use the neck strap to hang both sides of the camera around your neck while u are replacing film. I have used this trick before while running to catch to my wife after taking a shot a Zion...
The Nikon rf does not have the same setup in terms of the neck strap, but one can still put the back in your pocket while changing. So not quite as ast as the CL, but could still be faster then the my m6, since the bottom needs to be put in your pocket as well and there is only a small flip up film winder to make minor adjustments to film leader positioning.
But at end of they day, if u are really good at film changing, I don't think anyone style will beat the other.

It takes me 20-30 seconds to change film in my M bodies. Slow or fast? I don't know, but it's quick enough for me.

That was Catherine Leroy (thanks Google) who died in 2006 after having been the first woman to win the Robert Capa Gold Award, and can be seen here wearing a Leica M and a Nikon S3 with a W-Nikkor-C 35/1.8 on her belly parachute during the Vietnam war :

From photographs & books of the era, I've seen many 2 RFs (usually Leica, sometimes Nikon though, wide & standard) & + F (long) combos. Larry Burrows being an exemplar.
Horst Faas used 2 Leica Ms +, horror of horrors, a Zeiss Ikon Contarex Professional or Super.
In the later stages of the war, a mix of 2 Fs (sometimes F2 or cheaper/disposable Nikkormat) + 1 Leica (wide) became more common.

Any manufacturers.
Here you go, Will:
1) Classic Nikkors 35/3.5, 35/2.5 and 35/1.8
2) "Millenium" 35/1.8
3) Voigtlander SC 35/2.5 Skopar
There are several classic contax mount 35s (Biogon, Herar, Orthometar, etc.) that you can mount too, if you are OK with some focus inaccuracy.
Then again, the 35/1.8 is all you ever need

Off the top of my head: Nikon 35/3.5, 35/2.5, & 35/1.8. Tanack 35/2.8 [Edit, also Soligor & Komura, though it's not clear if they were for both Nikon & Contax]. CV 35/2.5. Zeiss 35/2.8, 35/3.5, & 35/4.5 (for Contax, but work fine on the Nikon).

There is the Cosina/Voigtlander 35/2.5 SC (fits both Nikon and Contax mount). Also, the FSU Jupiter 12 35/2.8 should fit, and the CZ 35/2.8 Biogon of which the Jupiter is a copy. These two were made for Contax mount, but depth of field will cover the incompatibility.

There are two Nikkor 35mm 2.5 lenses, a redesigned one with the 35 1.8 f-stop type external ring.
The redesigned Nikkor 35mm 2.5 is a collector item

Inferior to Leica M's, I think the SP, S3 and S4 are just as good as a Leica M. I used
Leica for years and after my last M4 shutter died I got a S3 and I think is just as good
and cutting your finger on the focusing wheel never happens. Maybe some guys have
baby fingers.
