Are there any M3's without 90 frame lines?

I think my M3 only has the 50 and 135 Frame Lines. I can't seem to find the 90 on there. 1955 Double Stroke with no Frame Lever.

I've looked at pictures online of what the frame lines should look like for all three and with a 135 lens attached, it seems to be what the 90 Frame Lines should look like. But I've never had a problem shooting.

So, just curious, were there any M3's without the 90 Frame Lines?

Most probably not. Yours most likely needs adjusting if a 135mm lens brings up what looks like 90mm frame lines.

Uncustomized M3s have 50, 90, and 135 frame lines. A 135mm lens should only trigger the proper frameline. Of course, a 135mm LTM lens adapted to M mount will trigger the frameline set for which the adapter is designed.

The framelines are controled by one of the claws on the lens mount. There is a little tab just behind the lens flange at the 3 o'clock position that feels the length of the mating claw. When no lens or a 135 is mounted the 135 set is displayed along with the fixed 50mm set. A 50 pushes the tab half way leaving only the 50mm set displayed. A 90mm lens pushes the tab all the way to display the 90mm set with the 50mm set.

This 3 postion tab has been retained. When the M2 was introduced with its 35-50-90 set the 35mm framelines use the M3's 135 tab positionig. Hence, LTM adapters are for 50mm, 90mm, and a combined 35 & 135. More modern Ms have additional focal length pairings. A 35mm M-mount lens will trigger the 135 frameline set on an M3.

My 135 is a Canon LTM lens and the adapter is the 35/135. I saw that little tab but don't have anything to move it with while looking through the viewfinder. I'll have to look for something that can move that lever, it's got some good spring tension on it.

Youxin has been through my camera so I'm sure things are working properly and it's just user error on my part.

Thanks for the info, I'll get it right... I just havn't used my 135 enough on this body.

Ok, I got it. A jewelers screw driver did the trick and I saw all the frames. It's all good. Thanks again.
