First, it was a nice Kiev 4A. Bought it, shot a bit, liked it. Sudddenly, there's 2 FED5's, a Zorki 4, a Zorki 5, a Moskva, a Kiev 2, & they keep multiplying like rabbits. Is there no cure? Help!

The only possible cure is when you have at least one of each model. After that, of course, there's maybe one from each year of production for each model? Or each body covering, the commemoratives, lenses etcFirst, it was a nice Kiev 4A. Bought it, shot a bit, liked it. And as far as vices go, FSU cameras are fairly inexpensive.

For toy cameras like Lomo LCA there were choosen strategy based on Western marketing, sent agents to Prague and created plot like they "discovered" LCA

I'm afraid the only solution is to start buying german cameras, japanese cameras or building a darkroom.

If you build a darkroom you will soon find that there is no more time for buying cameras. But paper gets expensive quickly!

Building a darkroom?
...with Russian, Czech or Polish pre-1989 enlargers, tanks etc. of course!
I've started in the mid '70s with a Kiev 4A, and I'm not yet tired or fed up...
Well, actually, an USSR camera collector/user, could be ФЭД up...
Best wishes,

There is no cure!
Try spending 2 years east of the Urals and going to flea markets every weekend.
I am a bit embarrassed about how many cameras and lenses I acquired

Still, credit where it's due: they've dumped the cameras on us and blamed the Russians for them...

Funny, I had the opposite experiences. Nothing EVER worked right, so getting away from FSU cameras was a relief! The lenses, that's another story. Great glass, very iffy cameras.
