Attn: Leica owners.

Certain style fashion item, but not as elegant as minimalistic Leica design. IMO.

High price is mostly for been non China made.

Most leather cases hold up pretty well. I have an old case for my Spottie that is still going strong.

I have several Luigi cases and straps for my LTM, M and digital-M Leicas and for my Contax II as well. Proper craftmanship!

I also have some Mr Zhou cases which are pretty good too.

I doubt very much a 1930's Leica will be used as hard today as they were back in the day, so what's changed to make them so much more vulnerable?

Likely the wear of the intervening years adds up. Also, collectors like to believe they have rare and precious treasure ;)

I've owned two IIIf bodies, and I have to say, other than having my current one CLAed, they've really not needed any work. Then again, neither was beat to death when I got them.

My view is to use these not all that rare cameras, and keep them maintained.

What was the reason for the top picture? The Luigi case and Contax were not thrown in the water deliberately, I hope. But if an accident, I'd think they would be retrieved immediately, not photographed!

A homage to Capa and D-Day I presume.

I have several and they're as nice as the cameras they house. Truly old world artisan quality. They've gone up in price for sure, but heck what hasn't...
