rich815 said:Ok, got the 35/2 Biogon I bought, and my 50 Summilux back from Sherry. I'll likely be bringing just my MP with those two lenses. Unless someone is especially interested in seeing/trying/fondling/holding my 35/1.2 Nokton?
My personal POV: I have the 35/1.2 and brought it to the last RFF meeting in Palo Alto, and Honus brought his 50/1.4 (which was the hit-o-the-meeting), but there were only 5 of us at that one. I'd love to see the Biogon, but bring whatever you want to shoot with.
I've got nothing new to show off, since the last meeting. I brought my newly acquired Hexar RF and the 35/1.2 to that one. I'm just bringing a small shooting kit.

However if anyone is around this weekend on the peninsula or sf and wants to meet up, let me know. I'm curious how my 35/2 asph cron compares with the v4 pre-asph. Nothing like doing your own tests, when there's so much discussed about the differences of these 2 lenses, and so little difference I can see.
Ted, I'll call you. I'm available today.

vrgard said:Very sorry to say that I, too, cannot join in this upcoming gathering. Turns out that next Saturday is my father-in-law's 71st birthday. Wouldn't normally be a problem except that he is in very poor health and just keeps getting worse. So, my wife and I are flying out of state to be with him on what will likely be his final birthday. I'm really bummed to miss this Bay Area RFF member gathering and feel guilty to not be able to host Guy's visit to meet the Bay Area RFF members. And this also means that I have to renege on my offer of covering the first round (although Guy did mention in a private email that he had wanted to do that so you guys may still be covered for that first round). Hope you guys have a great time and take some great pics (and be sure to get some group shots so I can enjoy the gathering vicariously).
Sorry,
Randy
...we'll keep the receipt from the first round

I'm now in San Ramon, just found internet access, & received Randy's bad news. I will have access until Monday. After that I'm not sure where I'll be or what access I'll be able to get - though I should be able to find something. If a location is posted & I can get on the net, I'll post here. If there's no post from me, could someone leave a message at the San Remo hotel at 800.352.7366? Looking forward to the meet-up , though it's too bad Randy can't attend - especially for the reason he can't make it.

Nice day today in San Ramon, huh? I can call the hotel. Maybe you should send me a PM with your last name. If you have a cell phone send that too, and I'll send you mine.
Did we ever decide on a location?

Don't think we have.....shall we decide on a central place, like a certain corner of Washington Square, an intersection street corner, or a particular place where we expect to eat or drink?

I think that's a good idea, Rich. I was thinking a good mid-point would be Broadway, but I can walk up to Washington Square. Agi seems to know a bunch of places. I like the sound of O'Reilly's, but we're going to need some space. I like the outdoor patio at Clown Alley (Pickles), but that's a hamburger joint. We definitely should stay away from the ballpark, since the Giants are in town (although, if Barry hasn't broken the record by then, we might want to consider hanging out at McCovey cove to take our shot at a million dollar baseball.
Agi, how's the space at O'Reilly's?

Am I the only one subscribed to this thread who is NOT getting emails when it's updated? Just curious as all other threads I get informed on, but not this one....
Ray, I'm going to PM you my cell phone so we can find each other that day as a precaution. Look forward to seeing you again.

I was also wondering about Washington Square. Lots of available seating, proximity to food & drink.

I think that's the place. We just need a time and for some of the others to report in.

How about Washington Square at the corner of Union and Columbus. See attached Google Map image. I've used a red line to point to a circular brownish area at this corner. We could meet-up around this spot, unless someone has a different idea which I'm open to of course...
Time? 11am?

Sorry Ray I just saw this. O'Reilly's will probably accommodate us. It's a bar & restaurant so I assume they can as they have tables inside and out. I've never eaten here before but had a few drinks.

Ok, someone stop me, I'm taking this too far....![]()
I like that as a meeting spot. I can even see the crosswalk I'll use to get to the "brown spot." Looks like a good place to meet. O'Reilly's sounds good, Agi. Who else is in?
