I bought used 35mm film rollers at eBay. It has black and white film roll in it but the seller doesn’t know any specification. How can I use and process this film. The Photo lab will ask for ISO.

Thanks

I assume you are talking about 35mm canisters for bulk loading?
or old rolls of film?

If the latter, then they shuld have an ISO, DIN or ASA indication
If the former, why go through all the hassel and not develop yourself?

i had a simmilar sit with some film i got with some bulk rollers...for about $1 i gave my lab a cannister to take a cutting from (it's important it be an unexposed cutting) so that they could develop it and tell me what kind of film it is..

this does assume that all cannisters were rolled with the same film...but it was an acceptable risk...

Um...

Very nearly a meaningless question.

Different films of the same ISO require very different development.

Do you really not know what you have bought? If so, why did you buy it?

Cheers,

Roger

if you do the snippet i described above, the film markings along the sporcket holes should be visible no matter what...

maybe he got a smoking deal because the sellr didn't know what s/he had!

Roger Hicks, I bought the 35mm FILM ROLLERS not the film inside the rollers. I just want to use the film cuz looks like new roll.

Chris,

Optimist!

By the time you've paid ANYTHING plus postage you're going to need a lot of film to justify this deal.

Cheers,

Roger

fair enough 😀 I hate postage...my film adventures in this regard happened largely the same as his did, as a sort of extra bonus...

Could you clarify, please, just what you mean by "film roller"? This is not a common term. A film takeup spool for a camera? A bulk film loading device ("bulk loader")? A regular film cassette?

I just want to use the film cuz looks like new roll.
Now I'm even more confused; didn't you just say you didn't buy the film that was in the "rollers"? Or do you mean that you bought these roller gizmos that had film in them that you didn't care about? And now you're curious about this film?

How do you know the film "looks" like a new roll; did you open it up and look? I hope not in the light...

cp_ste-croix makes a very good suggestion about how to identify the film. 🙂

Doug, sorry my english. I have bulk loader with B&W film inside. I loaded the film cassette with in 12 exposures. I took these 12 photos today using my FED3. I'll send to get developed tomorrow and see if the B&W film still good.

PS: I opened the bulk loader in the darkroom 🙂

Thanks

Sorry: bulk film loader? My misunderstanding...

No need to apologize for the English: I thought English was your native tongue, but poorly expressed. There are plenty of people whose native tongue IS English who express themselves less clearly!

Once again, my apologies.

Cheers,

Roger
