B+W Not Translating to RAW Files

So, I took a few RAW shots in monochrome mode and the pics are B&W in the camera's LCD. They are in color when using RAW conversion software: both C1 and Raw Shooter. JPEGS work fine. Converting to B&W is easy enough but I kind of like the in-camera processing of B&W applied to Jpegs which.

You have to use Epson's Photoraw software to get the B&W converted file that you see on the camera's LCD.

Raw - by it's nature doesn't permanently apply any in-camera processing to the shot - so it will record the color data, and leave the BW processing up to you. Either manually, or with the Raw processing software. That's the advantage of RAW images - nothing done to them, just a preview of that option should you prefer it.

If you want to keep the BW and do so quickly and trouble free - you'll have to use the JPEG mode as far as I know.

Thanks all! I realy like the B&W look of the jpegs so it appears like it will require some type of workflow to duplicate if I want to go from RAW to a B&W jpeg.

When you process the images in Photo RAW, Make sure all the options are set at "as shot" and you should be right where the jog is as far as color/tone etc.

I've only used the stand alone program on my mac, not the plug-in

I use Epson Photo Raw and set the options as Daniel does and it works perfect for me, I really don't even want to see the color version because B/W is what I liked about this camera ... just my 2 cents worth
And I use the stand alone program on my PC and have the one in Photoshop disabled

I've been getting really heavily into Lightroom nowadays but am really having trouble reproducing what the R-D1 is doing to the photos itself in B+W mode. Is anyone else here running into the same issues?

I've tried setting the same values as I get in CS2 with the RAW plug-in, but it just never comes out right...

(I know I could use the Epson software, but I'd like to eliminate extra tools... thus far I'm importing images directly to DNG into Lightroom...)
