Back and forth , buying a Nikon, again . . .

FA was the first cam with Matrix metering.

That was my first "serious" camera. It was also the first with matrix metering but...in my opinion it did not really work as one would like. It had 5 zones I think but in any light condition but the most obvious it just was no better than a center weight meter (at least that is what I eflt at the time). Still a good camera in all other modes and a very resilient one (used down to almost -40C in Canada with no problems). For the record I still have F, F2 and FM2n and had F3 and F5 and they all work(ed) fine. I think that you cannot go wrong with any of them.

Bummer, and then how to repair it :)

Bummer, and then how to repair it :)

Bummer .. looks like the meter is draining the batteries too quick..
First set drained in less than 24 hour, 2nd set was monitored, first checking the meter every 30min for 4 hours or so, no problem there, meter on for about 3 seconds each time.
Then 4 times a day for 2 days, no problem still working fine.
Brought the camera with me to work, did some frames in the lunch, meter on for like 5 minutes, batteries dead about 1 hour after this.

Been sending some emails to the store i bought it from, fine dialog, and after some emails i got 40 usd in refund trough paypal.

So now i have a nice looking FM without a meter, but i do have a Weston Master 5 and a donor camera for the parts :)

Sunny 16 for the summer, and when the leica guy in oslo gets back from his way too long vacation i´ll give him a call so he can have a look at it and also adjust the rangefinder on my M3DS.

Now, do I need another "summer camera" ? Halframe feels kind of tempting ;D
