the biggest obstacle for me using my Linhof Technika more often is transportability, means public transportation. What I am looking for is a bag that allows me to carry the camera, two lenses mounted on lens boards, a couple of film-holders, meter, loupe, and tripod on day trips. Any tips !?

I can't recommend a specific make because I can't even find one like mine on Ebay to point you in that direction. But I use an Olympus 'branded' backpack that came free when I bought my E3 new, so it is a large DSLR type pack with a fully opening 'lid' when laid flat. But in it I carry almost exactly the equivalent of what you want to carry, only with an M.P.P. technical camera, not the Linhof. There is plenty of space and compartments possible with the dividers commonly included in bags, but without it being a vast size overall which is overkill and makes transport more difficult. So perhaps I can help by giving you the dimensions and you can research more bags from there. The internal dimensions are 34cm wide, 39cm tall, and 14cm deep.

Thanks a lot for the info, that is a good starter already ! I had read some comments about camera backpacks that one has to put it down somewhere when reaching for the gear inside. Do you find that problematic for example when taking photos from muddy ground ?

I carry a large plastic bag in one of the outer pockets to put down when its wet or muddy. It is a big advantage to be able to both see and get at all your bits and pieces without having to sort through a bag. And it makes it so much quicker to set up.
