I just bought a camera in a garage sale for $2.50 but cannot find batteries, even in places that specialize in hard to find batteries. Any help will be appreciated.

I am shooting from my guts but stopped this process since I don't know if my photos will come out good and would rather wait to have batteries.

Thank You!!!!

Welcome

The origonal mercury cells are no longer manufactured, they were too toxic in land fill sites. There only are substitutes. Modifying the camera with a Shockey diode and using a silver oxide cell is simplest if you need to have it serviced anyway. Making an adopter from a similar sized battery for SR44 cells, the adopter has a Shockey diode, or using hearing aid 1.33v batteries, etc...

But with B&W or C41 film using a table is an ok fall back.

I don't understand the Diode jargon since I never liked electricity as a subject. Kind of talking about things you cannot see - but you can see the effect. (Like God)/

Anyway, what kind of hearing aid batteries? Do the go by numbers like "c-something"?

Hold on, there's a better (and cheaper) alternative.

The light-seal master Jon Goodman (interslice on eBay) has a new product, it's an adapter for the mercury battery replacement. Kinda similar to Criscam's, but at $10 a pop, it's way cheaper.

His email is JGood21967@aol.com, just in case anybody's interested.
