Hello fellow Leica M users,

I'm searching for a 90mm LTM to M adapter, but they seem to be a bit rare these days? In the bay are only those Chinese rings and one Voigtländer (which is a bit pricey).
Does anybody here maybe have a spare one to sell to me (preferably from Europe)?

Yes, I already figured that those Chinese ones are not suitable. Makes your lens stick in the body maybe... The 35 and 50mm rings I already have are Leitz ones and great. But somehow I think the 85mm lens I have does not focus right with the 35mm adapter and above all the frames are not right either (obviously^^).

I got a set of chinese ones once; the 50mm one brought up 35 lines, and the 90mm wouldn't turn all of the way on my M3. It's not my camera, since CV adapters and lenses all bring up the right framelines.

Maybe you misread, but he said they ARE suitable. Got one for my VC 35mm f1.7 Ultron. Works great, brings up the right framelines. Does not stick in body. Really. I'm not being ironic.

It's cheap. It's works. Buy one.

The adapters don't bring up the 35mm frames. That's the default position when there's no adapter or lens in the camera. A few strokes with a file will make a 50 or 90mm adapter into a 35mm adapter.

Both Cameraquest and B&H have the voigtlander adapters. Also watch KEH.com for Leitz ones. If you want to buy used, I suggest watching ebay a little longer. And watch the classifieds here. One will show up at the price you want--probably sooner than later!

I did get one that failed to bring up 90 as it was supposed to, but honestly, the others I got were fine. I bought all but the bad one from the same dealer. If you'd like, I can dig up his ebay name.. let me know.

Even the "bad" guy sent me a refund and told me to keep the adapter anyway. I use it now for my 28mm lens since the M2 or M4 have no appropriate framelines for 28. Essentially a free adapter.

Buy the CV or Leica ones. If you are patient they should cost you between US 40-50, sometimes less on RFF, or when bought together with a lens. That's just the way it is .... wrong place to save money, IMO. In the overall scheme of things (like compared with a Biogon or used Leica M 😉 ), its not pricey.

Cheers,

ROland.
