Moving to Berlin in october

Moving to Berlin in october

I live in Turku, Finland currently but I will be moving to Berlin in October for work reasons. I am glad to hear there are rff'ers living over there, because I will be needing some hints and advice (both in photography and in general) - such as where to get my E-6 stuff developed (135 and 120), is the tap water consistently good quality for home developing of film and so on... but I'll get to those questions separately later when I'm getting closer to the move.

(The other questions would be like, where to get my vintage Leicas and modern Mamiya 7's and everything in between serviced, and where to send the Nikon Coolscan 8000 for service... 🙂

mmh, I might have another reportage project, should be done before the three of us (or more?) meet again. if it works out, I'll start next week.
right here . a few arabs who repair / recycle / sell all kinds of cars more or less guerilla style, as it seems, most of them don't speak more than a few words of german or english. could be interesting I think!
 
As for me, I went out with a tripod and the Flexaret at night with mixed results. However, that inspired me to pay more attention to composition. Additionaly I went out to take some straight color photos of walls and doors with graffiti and street art. This route clearly leads to large format cameras... All intermixed with my favourite, available/low light rangefinder photography. At the moment I am stand-developing Tri-X@400 in Rodinal 1:100 with a splash of a mix of ascorbic acid and baking soda...

By the way, I also wanted to take some pictures of a construction site. A super maket is being renovated. Lots of dust, heavy machines, concrete cutters, workers, debris, a large empty hall. But the construction manager refused. He said that the owner probably wouldn't like pictures to be taken. However, the workers did not seem to have a problem.

I put together two street series within the last week or two.
this one about where I live (with 500m or less from my house)
and this one about gestures, poses and positions, pictures taken in kreuzberg within a small radius as well.
apart from that I think I will be able start with either of my reportage projects soon. that's what I got myself a rugged 90mm summicron for, some 'test results' are on my flickr.

excuse the 'barrel' distortion, it's not the lens but the film was curly. it should be flat now, but I'm too lazy to scan it again...
