I think Leica M is most seen RF in the street. I met 3 photographer last week in Helsinki. Two was photography students walking together and one was older photographer. They carry all M leica (film), and no-one have any numbers or names and all was black.

In my sight 'anonyme camera' is just a style and it have not much to do with camera value or a trademark. Maybe it shows it is a tool and it's carrier is little bit less a consumer. Of cource I can join to them with any black camera, and your question is strange. 😛

Why I am interesting on Bessa? It's very simple: I need 1:1 finder. Leica M3 is quite close, but look through it both eyes open is long way to easy restful feeling true 1:1 gives.

And there is some other technical develop too like opening back. I am new to rangerinder but I have allready noticed RF-family don't have a perfect camera. In SLR I see many bodys much closer perfect.

raise your hand if you think they should bring back the splatter paint finish. it was a new classic. the classic "bessa" lettering on the front would be nice, too. 🙂

I beg to differ... I much prefer the current model name on the front only, looks minimalistic that way. And somehow I prefer the old school Bessa profile (RD1, R, R2) with the old style rewind crank. 🙂

it would be minimalist if they didn't put anything on the front at all. 😉 also, writing "bessa" on the top in helvetica looks awkward. why don't they use the classic lettering? you can tell they don't have much of a design staff at cosina.

if i was consulting for cosina, i'd return "bessa" to the front in the classic style, leave "voigtlander" as is, and engrave the model number as a prefix to the serial number, like rollei and leica.

i like the angled top plate design on the r2s and r2c. the square edged design is great for the rXa, though i'd remove the projecting platform from underneath the rXm's shutter speed dial.
