I noticed the yesterday that the clear glass or plastic that is the window to the frame counter on my Bessa R appears to have unstuck on one side and has thus fallen in a bit. I'm assuming to fix it the top plate would be removed and it could be reattached/glued. How much would I expect it to cost to get this fixed? Alternatively, do I just leave it? If I do the only potential issues I can see are maybe dust getting where it shouldn't or it fully coming off and getting stuck somewhere.

I assume it would require only the removal of the top to correct.
Try contacting fellow RFF member DEZ regarding this. He was kind enough to adjust my RF of my Bessa R for me.

You must remove the top plate to fix it.

It happened to my Bessa-R too. I re-glued it and taped it to make it double secured.

Whether fix it yourself or by someone else, I'd suggest not to use nor shake the camera now to prevent the window from further falling in, or worse, get stuck deep inside the camera.

Check this thread for top plate removing. I followed the instruction when I did my Bessa-R. There are small differences between models but they are more or less the same camera.

The only troublesome part is the peeling of the leather on the side of the body to exposure those two screws that holding the top plate. But totally do-able at home.

Ha! I'm not the only one.. happened to my (now sold) Bessa. As it was still attached to one corner, I just covered the gap with some transparent tape.
