Hi, I've recently bought an R with a color Skopar 35 f2.5 lens. I haven't run a film through it yet, wet, dark weather and work get in the way. Whilst "playing" with it, I noticed that the rf coincident image stops moving when the lens focus moves past 0.8m towards 0.7m. This close limit is the same without the lens fitted, so looks to be a feature of the body. It's not a problem (at least not yet), but I wondered if this was a common thing on the R?

I've just checked and mine does exactly the same thing - I guess the 0.7m end is beyond the limit of the r/f cam.

Hi,
the rangefinder of the Bessa R is specified to work down to 0.9m only. Beyond that you will have to scale focus. So nothing broken, that's just how it is.

My Bessa R and 35/2.5 does exactly the same thing, no RF movement below 0.8m. Also, when the lens is screwed on it doesn't line up properly with the body - like it needs to be screwed in further. Initially I was worried that these two things were related and it might cause focusing problems but my photos have turned out fine.
