Hey All,

I recently got a R3M to replace my R2A and I noticed there seems to be a significant different in how bright the split image is on the R2A compared to the R3M. Just wondering if this is normal?

The R2A gives me no issues but with the R3M I find the split image box disappears or is very feint, and I have to adjust my eye position in order ot see it again.

Is this normal?

I think you have a problem with your R3M. I have an R3A, which presumably has the same finder, and the RF spot is bright and clear.

Cheers,
Dez

Interesting, thanks for the feedback guys. I guess I'll take it in for an adjustment as well. The two images line up perfect horizontally, but is off slightly vertically.

3.0,

I have an old Bessa R and a new R3M, but I experience the same thing. My new R3M has the same problem as yours, but my R is great--contrasty, bright, and easy to focus with. I'll ask Stephen Gandy for his opinion--is that normal for a 1x VF or is there something wrong.

Hey thanks!

Yeah I was wondering if it might be the 1:1 viewfinder as well. When my eye is at a certain position/distance sometimes the split image is almost gone, but if I adjust even slightly it returns. Although it's never seems as bright as my R2A

I have used R2A and Epson R-D1 together. The 1:1 viewfinder of the Epson should be very close to the one on R3M or even the same. I never found any significant difference in the viewfinders.
