I actually didn't see much opinion at all about the old Nikkor/Contax lenses in the posts of this thread ... certainly no romanticizing.
On the other hand, not a few visitors to this forum enjoy different approaches to photography, and most photogrpahers are endless tinkerers with gear. I enjoy using 50-year-old cameras and lenses and seeing them hold their own with modern lenses. A lot of the old Nikkor and Contax lenses were truly groundbreaking. And for telephotos, M-mount Voigtlaenders max-out at 85/90mm f/3.5; the Contax/Kiev and Nikkor 85/2 has no equivalent outside of Leitz. The 105mm /f2.5 Nikkor has no equivalent at all, and the 135mm Contax/Kiev/Nikkor lenses are fantastic.
